BSP Labels invests in Focus Reflex330 digital finishing system

Following the recent installation of its Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230 digital press, BSP Labels of Royston, UK, has turned once more to Focus Label Machinery to invest in a Reflex 330 digital finishing system.

Aimed predominantly at the digital finishing market, the Reflex 330 is a servo-driven, stand-alone single color flexo press, equipped with auto re-register (multi-pass) facility, UV or LED drying, die-cutting, slitting and rewinding. A wide range of optional equipment includes turn-bar, delam-relam, cold foil, re-register laminating, over laminating and sheeting.

BSP Labels purchased the Reflex 330 to complement its AccurioLabel 230, providing off-line varnishing and converting of pre-printed digital labels and for high volume production of blank and single-color labels.

The servo-driven, automatic re-register facility is said to enable perfect re-registration for over-printing, die-cutting and finishing, making the Reflex 330 a natural partner for digital web presses.

All press operations are controlled from HMI panels, where job data can be also entered for future retrieval.

Available with both semi-rotary and full rotary die-cutting, the Reflex 330 is capable of print and convert re-register speeds more than 120 meters per minute in full rotary mode.

Rotary tooling from other narrow web presses can be accommodated via use of die adapters.

BSP managing director, Martin Attaway, said, ‘We can now pass pre-printed digital web through the Reflex 330, where we can apply a varnish and die cut the labels in perfect register.

‘For us, it is an extremely useful and versatile piece of equipment, since it can also be used as a high-speed blank label or single-color press. We can now offer a comprehensive digital label service, alongside our existing flexo presses.’
