Stermanns Etiketten invests in Lemorau MICR 450mm

German converter adds Lemorau MICR modular inspection slitter and rewinder machine to increase production capacity

German converter Stermanns Etiketten based in Aachen, has invested in Lemorau MICR modular inspection slitter and rewinder machine to increase production capacity.

At the customer’s request, the machine was developed in 450mm web width with unwinder for 1m diameter rolls, waste rewinder for the unwinder, TubeScan++ inspection system by BST, clear on clear sensor, automatic positioning of slitting knives and semiautomatic turret rewinder.

‘The contact with Lemorau came about through the long-standing cooperation with Dieter Gansert,’ said Bräutigam, production management assistant at Stermanns.

‘Due to an increase in printing volume, the finishing department had to be resolved quickly. We needed the converting to be faster, more effective and with “security”. Our requirements for quality assurance, speed and short set-up times were met. This smart machine concept, at a fair price, was the deciding factor in the purchase decision. The machine was fully integrated into the production process after a short training period.’

The Lemorau MICR is a modular concept machine with web tension control system by servo motors. It’s equipped as standard with electronic web guide, 250 job memory to help with repetitions and quick job changes, air trim removal and QRC (quick remote connection) software.

Besides the optional features chosen by the customer, this model can also incorporate extra space for inkjet variable data, die-cutting unit, back scorer, antistatic bar system or de-developed in right to left configuration.

The entire process was dealt by Dieter Gansert Graphische Machinen, Lemorau’s exclusive distributer in Germany.
