Alabama Chapter of IPMA (AAPPA)

 

The AAPPA is a HRCI (Human Resource Certification Institute) Approved Provider and has been approved to use the "HRCI Approved Provider" seal in marketing materials and is authorized to determine HR-relatedness and calculate and award recertification credit hours toward PHR (Professional in Human Resources) and SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources).

The HRCI Approved Provider Program is designed to encourage PHR and SPHR professionals to continue their ongoing education in human resources and to retain their designations through recertification every three years.

International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR)


AAPPA's parent organization, IPMA-HR (International Public Management Association for Human Resources), is an international non-profit organization for human resource management in the public sector. There are over 5000 members in Federal, State and Local agencies in the United States and internationally. Both individual and agency memberships are available.

Like AAPPA, IPMA-HR strives to promote professionalism in HR management by providing a variety of services to assist its membership. Visit the web site, www.ipma.org.

The HR Center, a free research service, available to national members, provides the latest information on HR issue, innovations and trends.

IPMA-HR Assessment Service provides validated testing materials for a number of common public sector classifications at a reasonable cost. Membership in IPMAAC (International Public Management Association Assessment Council) is available for assessment specialists.

National members receive a monthly newsletter, "IPMA-HR News" and "Public Personnel Management", a professional journal which is published quarterly.

Educational opportunities are available through regional, national and international training conferences, as well as, fellowship programs.

The Alabama Association of Public Personnel Administrators is a non-profit organization whose members work in state, county, municipal governments, public utilities and regional planning commissions. Any person working in public sector HR is eligible for membership.

Society for Human Resource Management

The AAPA-CGS education programs are approved for recertification credit hours towards PHR and SPHR recertification through the HRCI - Human Resource Certification Institute under the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Visit the web site, www.shrm.org.
